Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World
By admin on Feb 12, 2008 in Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World
In case you were wondering I do not think I would qualify for the Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World - maybe Donna - but certainly not me. This is actually about a contest started by Real Estate Webmasters and Eric Bramlett.
It did start my thought process about what a client might expect from the “Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World”. So I am starting a list on this blog and might add to it from time to time.
Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World standards:
1) Knows values of homes in his area of the world
2) Knows the Real Estate laws.
3) Knows about various mortgages, rates, and possibilities available to clients.
4) Real Estate Agent who is a very good negotiator.
5) Agent who follows up on the details of the transaction.
6) Real Estate Agent who keeps his/her clients informed all thru the process.
7) The greatest real estate agent in the world would need to be web - savvy.
Agent who is accessible for questions
9) I would want an agent who got along well with all parties in the transaction (opposing Realtor, lawyer, appraiser, loan officer, etc. ) as this can be very important when a difficult situation comes up.
10) The Greatest Real Estate Agent in the world should be experienced.
To me these would be the 10 most important aspects of the Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World. Please feel free to comment and add to these below. Another perspective is the Greatest according to the NAR
2 of my favorites in the contest are Ryan Ward - The greatest agent in Atlanta Ga and Eric Bramlett - the Greatest Agent in Austin
Hey Wayne,
You have a nice top 10 list here, and these are all truly very important qualities someone looking for a real estate agent, or even the greatest agent should be looking for.
But you know, this contest is all about #7.
I’m sure your clients know you are very web savvy.
In todays real estate market it is critical as a seller to have someone like you to effectively market their home online.
Buyers appreciate a web savvy agent because with a great website it makes their home search easier and more enjoyable.

The greatest real estate agents knows how to listen to the client and has an instinct which property is the right one to show them and knows how to present it best. Like if you have beachfront property, take them out at sunset with a bottle of wine.

I think lists like this are some of the best things to come out of this competition. Because it’s not about the one and only greatest agent, but about being the greatest agents that we can be. I particularly like the emphasis you put on the value of communication(#6,#8,#9).

Thanks Milan! I think this competition has been good for everyone involved.

I would also add, that the greatest real estate agent maintains a relationship with the client, perhaps thru email marketing even after the sale, because today’s client is also tomorrow’s client in about 5 years.

Wayne, are you “in” the contest or just posting on it? Just curious.

@Knox - when I posted this I was entering the contest but after reflection I decided that I liked the team concept. It supports my idea that SEO is a team sport which is best learned and employed with friends. So…I joined team Eric.

Thanks for a solid post Wayne. Some good points there. And as the TeamEric guy (and as a friend), I appreciate you joining my team more than you will know.
I has been exactly one year since we hung out in Atlanta (you, Ryan and I)…truly amazing.

Your 10 Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World really give us a good picture of how a good Realtor should be. And if I may add, if someone masters these 10, well I don’t think he or she would have enough time to do SEO and win this contest.

Teamwork is definitely best. Everyone contributes something else. You learn a lot more from it, than doing it by yourself. Yes, by yourself you get support from friends, but you don“t discuss strategies in a group learning new things daily.

I think the most important attribute for the “Worlds Greatest Real Estate Agent” is honesty. When matching buyer side representation with our clients, our site looks at many things, but without honesty there is no trust, and without trust there is no relationship.

I wished there was more honesty in contests. Saying you are not in it, yet asking all of your friends to link to you to help you win is not something that I consider honesty.

Yep - seems to be a lot of “non” competitors that are competing pretty hard. It is amazing that they would throw rocks at the contest and then compete this hard. Pretty funny really.

Good article - all very informative - but who cares about “who’s” the best - there are more important ISSUES!!! Real estate in 2008 will surely become a DISASTER with the loss of most mortgage loan financing and NO MORE $0 Down loans. A smart Realtor must maximize their opportunity to convert MORE prospects into buyers by offering to HELP them get their bad or damaged credit scores fixed. Please feel free to send all your agents to my genuine Credit Repair Program article at: http://www.jeffboyce.net/credit-repair-and-how-to-fix-bad-credit.html. I’d be glad to help you sell more homes, by getting your unqualified buyers a real nice 30 year fixed loan.
