7 Interesting things about Donna and Wayne

Wayne and DonnaI was “meme’d” or “tagged” by Lydia a fiend and Realtor in Augusta Ga with a challenge to tell 7 interesting things about ourselves. So here goes.

1) Donna and I will have been married 26 years on February 27th after meeting at UGA.

2) We have 2 outstanding grown children whom we are very proud of. Our daughter Tiffany is married and living in Tampa with her husband Nate. They are both on staff at the River Bible Institute. Jason is a student at Columbus State College and works at Fed Ex at night.

3) Donna was a High School Cheerleader for Hershel Walker at Johnson Co. High in Wrightville Georgia.

4) We had the pleasure of being at UGA when Georgia won the National Championship. We were there in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl! One of our favorite all time trips.

5) My degree is in Animal Science and at one time I raised about 10,000 hogs per year. It was a very interesting business as you have to be part Vet, nutritionist, commodity specialist ( we purchased train car loads of grain), and business man all rolled into one. Donna was a middle school teacher at the time. I think she had the tougher job.

6) My father won the summer race at Daytona in 1941. At that time part of the race was on the beach and I have a picture of him passing Bill France (founder of Nascar - his family still owns Nascar) on the beach at Daytona. I also have a newspaper clipping of him from the Atlanta Constitution with his prize of $400. :) Fortunately he didn’t have to rely on this for a living as he made his living elsewhere - like most racers of the day - running liquor from North Georgia into Atlanta.

7) I own an English Bulldog whose name is Georgia Peaches. She is pretty much the color of a Peach.

As this blogging game works I need to “tag” seven other bloggers so I would like to know more about Maureen McCabe, Joeann Fossland, Mike Brown, Coralie Cowan, John Sabia, Jessie and Jennifer MacKay, and Benjamin Dona.
